Will Dog Repellent Spray fight off a large dog?

Would you be able to tell me if pepper spray would help me fight off a dog that was attacking me?Dog Repellent Spray wards off dogs
I was attacked a few months ago by a Rottweiler and then this morning, two dogs come after me. There are a lot of loose, unattended dogs in my neighborhood. What size should I get to fight off two dogs?

Dear Nicole,

Thank you very much for your interest in our products!

We'd like to help you in your situation.
First, the products:
Dog spray, dog repellent, canine spray, mace muzzle
Number one dog repellent spray on the market is Mace "Muzzle":
It is pepper spray based and is the most popular dog repellent.
The canister holds 1/2 oz for 10 bursts at 10-12 feet.

Bear spray br-9 by Mace
If you need to ward off bigger animals, check Bear spray too.
The canister is much bigger (9oz), it shoots further, and covers bigger area. Here is the link to theBear Spray (Bear Repellent).

Dog chaser, dazzler, ultrasonic whistle
We also recommend carrying the ulrasonic dog repelling whistle.
The ultrasonic whistle comes handy before the attack happens.
If you feel that dogs might be sizing you up, the ultrasonic blast from the whistle (humans do not hear it, dogs -- do) might "change the dog's mind". It has a disorienting effect on dogs, so it might give you time to leave the danger zone.

When an attack is imminent, the whistle is not a solution anymore and it's time for pepper spray.
Aim toward the eyes and the nose.
The pain from pepper spray is significant and it might deter even a large dog. However, the force of determination of the attacking dog might block the pain, so the attack might still happened.
What do you do then?

You can read about the plan B in the e-book: "For Good Citizens Only: How to use Pepper Spray".

There is a chapter about animal attacks.

Nicole,
we look forward to seeing you back in the store,

Hello Alex,
This is Hal CUTLER again. It's been some time since I talked to you. I did get your message about helping you answer some of the questions that come in. I didn't respond as I have been busy lately. However, if you let me know which questions you want help with, I will do so now.

I just noticed on your site the concerns of the lady who has problems with dogs. She should know that dog pepper spray is actually WEAKER than ones made for humans. Most people think it is stronger. She should let the dogs get fairly close because if you spray at too long a distance, the OC may get caught in the fur and not get to the eyes or nose. That is even more important with bears. Your bear spray suggestion was good. She could also consider a concealed gun permit or carrying a sizeable pocket knife, depending on the laws where she lives. She could also carry a walking stick that could be used as a club or to shove in the dogs mouth and keep it busy while she prepares her OC or knife for use. Hopefully she would already have those things ready to use BEFORE the dog got to her. A camera would help to identify the attacking animals and the owners if they come to take the animals away. The owners of the dogs should be criminally charged, so call the police. The criminal court should require the owners to pay for any injuries that may have occurred. If not, the owners should be sued for damages.
someone is injured. And always carry a cell phone with you to get the help that you need as fast as possible!
